I really only care about getting better. It’s all about the expression of the art. The interpretation of what I see.
My Philosophy
When I go out, or when I go online, I see so much great art. Really amazing stuff. Sometimes because it’s so technically correct, sometimes because it’s not. Sometimes it’s the colours, the techniques, the compositional content. And I love it all. I want to emulate a lot of it. Although not all of it.
Of course it’s not a competition. But it is inspiring to see so much fantastic art. It’s not all about the “Rockstars” the Van Gogh’s or the Hockney’s there is so so much more out there.
Variations
Primarily I work with taditional oil paints. Nowadays more with water soluble oils. I also paint with acrylics. I draw or sketch with pencil and charcoal. Throughout the year I move from one mediuim to another depending on my mood or the amount of daylight and the weather. In the Summer I do a little stone carving and in the winter I write and produce music on computer as well as Photography, Graphic art as well as Digital [#tradigital] timelapse paintings. Which are a lot of fun.
